Fatal DUI Driving Under the Influence in Northeast Philadelphia

A Northeast Philadelphia man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and vehicular manslaughter as the result of a fatal automobile crash.Just after midnight on November 13, 2012, while at Bustleton Avenue and St. Vincent Street, 33 year old Robert Bregnzer from Mayfair allegedly caused a crash that killed two others. It is reported that Bregenzer was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon east on St. Vincent when he ran a red light and struck a Honda Accord headed south on Bustleton, knocking it into the northbound lanes. The Honda then collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee. According to reports Bregenzer was either under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. HOF Catcher Carlton Fisk Arrested for DUI Driving Under the Influence

Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk, perhaps best known for his home run in the 1975 World Series, was arrested for DUI after police in Illinois found him passed out in a pickup truck in a cornfield. Fisk, 64, was behind the wheel of his F-150 pick up truck with the engine running when police arrived. Fisk was taken to the hospital, and refused to take a blood alcohol test. There was an open bottle of vodka in the truck. Fisk was released after posting bail in the amount of $300, and is scheduled to appear in court this Thursday. Bucks County DUI Driving Under the Influence Sobriety Checkpoints Scheduled

Bucks County’s Quakertown and Richland police departments, along with the Pennsylvania State Police of Troop M, Dublin, will be participating in a DUI safety initiative throughout Thanksgiving Day and the weekend. Beginning midnight Tuesday and running until midnight Sunday, motorists will be observed by roving patrol units and roadside sobriety checkpoints for possible DUI violations on area state highways. Joe Simpson, father of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, pleaded no contest to the charge of drunk driving and will serve three years of probation and attend an alcohol education class. The former minister entered the plea to one misdemeanor count of DUI through his attorney. A second count was dismissed. He avoided a potential prison sentence of up to a year in jail by pleading no contest to the DUI charge.
