HOF Catcher Carlton Fisk Arrested for DUI Driving Under the Influence

HOF Catcher Carlton Fisk Arrested for DUI Driving Under the Influence

Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk, perhaps best known for his home run in the 1975 World Series, was arrested for DUI after police in Illinois found him passed out in a pickup truck in a cornfield. Fisk, 64, was behind the wheel of his F-150 pick up truck with the engine running when police arrived. Fisk was taken to the hospital, and refused to take a blood alcohol test. There was an open bottle of vodka in the truck. Fisk was released after posting bail in the amount of $300, and is scheduled to appear in court this Thursday. If Fisk was arrested driving under the influence under these circumstances in Pennsylvania, it is likely he would receive ARD if it was his first offense. He would be facing a one year suspension of his driver’s license for refusing...

Son of ex-Chicago Bears Coach Ditka Facing DUI and Drug Charges

Former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka’s son, Mark Ditka, who is awaiting trial on his fourth DUI charge, tested positive for opiates during a routine pretrial screening. Ditka told the judge the drug had been properly prescribed. But after the judge instructed him to leave the courthouse to go to Walgreens and get a copy of the prescription – an errand expected to take about 20 minutes – he returned more than two hours later without the prescription. Ditka claimed he went to three Walgreens but was unsuccessful in retrieving a copy of the prescription because “their stuff was down.” Ditka was arrested in October near his home and charged with DUI and possession of a controlled substance after authorities said a bottle of Hydrocodone (generic Vicodin)...

Fox News Anchor Arrested for DUI and Reckless Driving

An Atlanta television news anchor was arrested on DUI and reckless driving charges on Sunday after she was involved in a wrong-way crash, according to police. Amanda Davis, a Fox news anchor for over 25 years, was driving northbound in the southbound lane of Piedmont Avenue near 14th Street in Midtown around 12:20 a.m. when the crash occurred, according to Atlanta police. When the investigating officer arrived on the scene, he saw the Green Fiat driven by Davis facing the wrong direction. The wreck scene suggested a head-on collision with Davis’ vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane of traffic. The officer observed that Davis smelled of alcohol. When he asked her if she had been drinking, she responded that she had. The officer determined he had...

Police Officer Lied About DUI

Police Officer Lied About DUI

Last week a New Jersey politician and his lawyer released a dash-cam video that showed an arresting officer blatantly lied about the circumstances surrounding his DUI arrest. The police officer stopped the local politician, telling him the politician was stopped because he cut off the officer when he merged in front of him on a busy stretch of road. The politician was eventually taken to the police department for processing, where he was charged with DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test and the traffic offense of Failure to Maintain Lane. The politician consistently maintained his innocence, alleging the police officer specifically targeted him. His  lawyer was able to obtain the dash-cam video, which clearly showed ample distance between him and the police...
